Community is created by the love and attention we provide. Mary Janet MacDonald of Port hood, Nova Scotia has been created community with family, friends and colleagues through dance and music. Known for their stepdance talents, the MacDonald family and Mary Janet have travelled the world performing and sharing the love of Cape Breton dance and music. Today we are talking about Mary Janet's latest endeavor, a weekly Facebook Live event on Sunday afternoons: Tunes and Wooden Spoons - that has gone viral. Her outreach to her family members living away, and her connection to sharing traditions with grandchildren began this journey, but the love and spirit that this project inspires is bringing thousands of followers to her Facebook page for a weekly cooking lesson, some music and conversation over a cup of tea, and a chance to be loved by one of Cape Breton's finest ambassadors.
